The temple of the Gold mountain

Chiang Mai. Wat Phra That Doi Kham : The temple of the Golden Mountain.

Wat Phrathat Doi Kham, also known as Golden Mountain Temple, is a hidden gem located about ten kilometers southwest of Chiang Mai. Perched on a hill, this small temple offers a peaceful and less crowded experience than its famous neighbor, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.

A place of spiritual retreat with breathtaking views:

Buddha relics: Like all temples with the words « Phra That » in their name, Wat Phrathat Doi Kham houses sacred Buddha relics. It is a place of devotion and meditation for the faithful.

Seated Great Buddha: The main attraction of the temple is a seated Buddha statue over 17 metres high. This imposing golden figure is a symbol of serenity and spirituality.

Panoramic view: From the temple esplanade you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings. Royal Rajapruek Park, located below in the valley, is visible from this place.

Golden Mountain: Doi Kham translates as « Golden Mountain » in Thai. This name evokes the beauty and majesty of the hill where the temple is located.
